- Having trained with the Society for Editors and Proofreaders (SfEP), I have been a writer, editor and proofreader
since 2002, working for a wide range of clients – publishing, corporate, educational and healthcare.
- Since 2007 I have written a regular magazine, Penlines, for Bradford College staff.
- In 2006 my partner and I set up the Hebden Diary, a monthly guide to events in and around the Upper Calder Valley.
We handed over the running of it in 2009, and it is still a successful publication.
- In 2005 I had a contract as commissioning editor for Redemptorist Publications, which involved overseeing the
publication of several books, as well as magazine-format and weekly A4 publications.
- I have worked in media relations, producing press releases for, among other organisations, the Lake District
National Park Authority. I also have experience as a freelance journalist.
- Until 1998 I worked in television production, both as a production manager (Buena Vista Productions, Roger Bolton
Productions, MBC North) and as a development co-ordinator, writing and developing ideas for television and radio (Vanson Wardle Productions).
- I have a BA in English, History and Politics (2:1, University of Buckingham, 1988) and an MA in Creative Writing
(University of Plymouth, 2003).
